Is American Speedway Legend Greg Hancock famous/well known in U.S.A?

Greg Hancock is an absolute legend in the sport of speedway and looks set to secure his 2 World Championship in a long career of entertaining millions. What i want to know is, even though Speedway is not as well known in US as some countries (they have other sports they love), is he well known in the Mainstream media/General American Culture???
