I was just wondering if anyone had some info on how the native americans were awarded their land?

They didn't get land 'back'. Reservations were created by the U.S. government to place captured Native Americans on. They were generally places that no one wanted, and they just stuck around. Natives now are free to live wherever they please, however, many feel the reservations are their home.
