How should parents approach their teen about friends of the opposite sex or dating?

My parents always ask me millions of questions about my male friend. I hate it because although I am 16 I don't feel comfortable talking to them about it yet. I feel that they shouldn't question me and that they should wait until I come to them and talk to them about it. Am I wrong or are they right at approaching me?
